Meeting Update; 14 July meeting. :yipee
We had a rare treat tonight! In addition to our effervescent, IT expert, and web-mistress, Aimee (Who is building an N-Scale german cathedral) we had the pleasure of a visit from Mrs. Tootie Young, our own "Young Mr. Young's Spouse!!
I made her smile for the camera! She makes THE BEST potato salad for our Club Cook-outs! 2X the Women-people! :dance

This is, I think, Kibri's 37025 N scale kit of the Kaiserwilhelmgedachtniskirsche (well, maybe not.) Aimee's painting it brick by brick, before she filters, washes, and weathers. 
Aimee seeks Don's tuttleage on the final finishing of the Cathedral.

The 4" .50 caliber deck gun is in keeping with Francisco's usual attention to detail.
Bob's 1/35 scale Howitzer, and Mk.III British tank. both VERY cool!! (Bob has NO stash. He buys a kit, He builds a Kit. One of us show self-control!!)

My name is Bond. Jon Bond. (he actually moved here from UK in the early '90's) Jon brought back his British 8th Army M3 Honey diorama! :coolio He's also got a start on the overly complex ICM 1/48 Spitfire.
Remember the tip about attaching teeny P/E p[arts with Future?? That came from Mr. Bond!

Lookee!! A SHINY thing!! Smilin' Bob Malloy put the "Surgery" in "Plastic Surgeon" He's seamlessly channelled, chopped and finished the '49 Mercury.
Fine sanded primer with Model master Burgundy over it. Smooooooooth!!

The finish is COOL! does it look like the .50's and main landing gear doors my be backwards? Great first Aircraft effort for a Sci-FI Guy!
Chris is the kind of analytical modeler that paints plastic spoons when trying new products, so different priners and acrylic metal finishes. Ol' Rick Blaisel did the same thing with automotive finishes, many moons ago. Chris' 1/48 Republic P-47N Thunderbolt is a gift for an Aging Veteran.

Nate McCoy is working on a new 1/35 USMC Iwo Jima Diorama.
Academy's M4A2 diesel-powered Sherman, Jeep Boken! bad Boken BAD! and a squad of Leathernecks.
Nate Stevens (the Other white Nate) tells us about his P-51 Assembly line. As the owner of a custom auto body shop, I'm not surprised he's using Henry Ford's methods!
Francisco Melendez' 1/72 USS Drum. He's doing the Measure 9 USN Black scheme, so he won't have to drill all those extra pesky limber holes in the ballast tanks. :captain

6 October 2016 Club Meeting; I made this one, despite my Jack Hammer day. My employer seems to dispatch my apprentice and I on really ardurous jobs on Thursdays.
Harvest is under way here in the Heartland.
After our President Arrives, the meeting begins with our Chapter Contact/Contest Committee Chairman, Joachim Lotz, holding forth, in his usual, very German, very thorough fashion. Jeff Holle (Blue Shirt looking like he lost a Backstreet Boy in Body weight) in on the mend after several cardiac (not plastic) surgeries.
Secretary, George Stevens, and Jeff confer.
Self proclaimed 1/72 "Scale Snob" Nate Stevens, eyes a CAR MODEL with his professional interest. GOTCHA!!
The "Zombie-apocalypse-Death Star 1/700 Gaffney Paechoid water tower attended tonight's meeting as well! :facepalm
At Mark Twain Hobbies, Don handed me a book, stating "This is just what you need." I disagreed, but purchased such all the same. Mike and I agree, this was an excellent consolation prize for our Surgeon's Stalwart, Ross (Roscoe) Petra. He seemed well pleased, and impressed. I'm always thinking of My People. Ross is a clever modeler, and good Friend.
Sometimes, during Joe's commentary, our President finds something else to amuse himself!
