I know Greg has read it, I've told it a couple of times. About looking in this bomb bay and seeing the same hardware that is used on the B52 for conventional bomb release (at least back when I was loading bombs).

Well this is it, the A2 Bomb Release Unit (memory fuzzy, may not be the designation) and when I pointed this out to the CO, one James Stewart, he looked at me and just said.
"Well if it ain't broke, don't fix it." And I've been trying to do that ever since.

Here ya go Terry, Dad took this picture at Wake Island on a stop over on his way back from Korea. Thankfully he found this interesting enough to get a shot of it. I got more pictures of army bulldozers than of Shermans and the M16 halftrack he said he saw.
 
Great picture!!! I've got one of these kits it may become a project soon.
