Jeez, Randy- that's just amazing! What type of drill press do you have? I'm in awe of those cowling panel rig mounts, among other things.

Cheers!

Hello Laura, Appreciate the comment!!

Thank you Chuck, No drill press, steel rule taped to the brass sheet stock.# 80 drill in the pin vise. Did double up the brass so I got two identical strips.

Running out of time so trying to finish the motor area then tackle the last major scratch building which is the folding wing. Only plan on doing one wing.

Building up a carburator and air inlet....

It is hard to get a pic but it shows up better in person...

Finishing up the wing tip and getting some paint on...

a mock up of the folded wing......

089.jpg

This is what I need to get to, very heavy on the paint chipping and weathering...

005-76.jpg

My plan is an enamel base, metal color, then shoot some Tamiya paint. The Tamiya IJN Green is thinned 50% and sprayed at 20lbs.psi at a distance that when it lands it is pretty much dry. This lets me remove it with a shape Q-tip......

The metal is way to shiney at this stage but hopefully when I'm all done it will be o'kay!!

Back to bench :D :D
