I want you to look at this shot and wonder why all manufactures don't do it.
Did you notice how close to the edge of the wheel the sprue gates are?
NO center seams to spend your valuable time sanding away. Being on the edge like that makes clean up a snap.
First thing this morning was to group up the parts needed for a truck assembly and looking over the instructions to form a plan of attack.
I figured it would be best to assemble the top half before adding the road wheels making the paint process easier.
The instruction get kind of busy so I took pictures as I went for you.
I glued C7-C8/C9-C10 halves together and filled the seams with auto spot putty.
To those part C27(spring end supports)where installed.
These are captured between parts C22 and C23.
Put no glue on those four little studs because they are pivot points. Glue is applied at the joint where C22 and C23 come together.
Those oval closed holes are for the spring pivots and a rod will be place in that hole in part C23.
Once together it should look like this.
A bar, part C32,is placed on the bottom between C22 & C23 to tie those parts together.
Now before you get carried away take note:
Part C32 has a square stud on each end,one right at the end and one set back a tad from the end.
The end that the stud is right on the end fits to part C23.
"CAREFUL with the glue"
Now it's time for the small rod (C31)to be pushed through C23 flush and a spot of glue applied on each end to secure in place.
I glued the springs together at the spring clamps and slide those in place for effect. will be removed for painting.
There are some smaller parts yet to install but i'll do that when all four trucks are assembled.
