Looks real sexy, Alex.

Got another one completed! This is an ARVN M34 2 1/2 ton truck, Gai Dinh Province, Republic of Vietnam 1967. It is an out of the box build of the old Monogram kit (actually a re-release of that kit). It was pretty fun building a kit that brought me back to my childhood as I built a couple of these to play with back when I was 9 years old (1979). It is not as nice as the AFV Club M35 in terms of detail as this was a very simple kit, but I think it turned out decently enough.

Well, that one counts towards the SOUTH ribbon. Still waiting for the NAVY ribbon for the Navy Seabee to show up on my ribbon rack.

Now to finish the M132 Flame Track I am currently working on...once the tracks arrive on Saturday.

Next up will be a New Zealander, an Australian, and a French Soldier.

Cheers,
James

Another model completed - the M132 Flame Track. It depicts one of the tracks belonging to the 15th Engineers of the 9th Infantry Division after they received it from the 709th Maintenance BN in January 1967. Since it was driven from the motor pool of the 709th after a quick road test before being brought over to the motor pool of the 15th Engineers, the track is dusty, but not like it will be after going out to the field. I think the model came out decently, but the first road wheel on the right side is a bit off. I just could not get it to fit right even after some sanding and scraping.

Since I already have the Army Ribbon, this one is just for fun.

Here's a picture of the M34 on a base. I can't stand having my models be without a base. Notice that there are footprints near the driver's door. Once the show is over this weekend, I will be placing a figure of an ARVN driver on the base to add some life to it.

Here's the M132 Flame Track completed with the antenna and spare track installed. Now it is truly done.

Got another model completed for this build campaign - an Australian M113 Fire Support Vehicle.

The model was a 1/76th scale toy-like kit from Airfix which was an old JB Models mold. It went together quick and will be used by my Grandson for his wargames.

This was a fun build and I think it turned out fairly well.

AUSTRALIA ribbon - check! Still awaiting the issuance of the NAVY and SOUTH ribbons for my ribbon rack. :)

Cheers,
James

OK, WAITING ON THE USAF RIBBON ISSUANCE NOW!

The SBS Models Resin/Photo etch is THE BOMB! IT really makes the model POP and in addition to the seats, note that it even offered review mirrors and photo etch enhancement for the canopy front and lift mechanism!

with these pics, note that I had printed off a background of PSP/Marsden matting. Does it look like to big for 1/72 scale? it does to me, as the scale was not stated.

Got another one completed: "House to House". It is not for a ribbon as I already have the Army ribbon, but is still related to this build.

Now to complete my French Foreign Legion Paratrooper figure.

Cheers,
James

Thanks, MP.

Here is another completed vignette: "Young Entrepreneurs"

Since I already have the Army ribbon, this one does not need one. However, the "Australia", "Navy", and "South" ribbons have not shown up yet in my ribbon rack.

Now on to some more projects...

Cheers,
James

Here is the F-102 Delta Dagger I built for this "Charlie Don't Surf" campaign. It feels good to have finished a campaign again:

I believe that qualifies me for the Vietnam USAF badge. Man, I'm so glad I got a Vietnam badge!

Thanks for looking in, comments are welcome.

After leaving the figure on the back burner for a while, I decided I better get this figure completed since the end of this build campaign is growing near. I present to you a French Foreign Legionnaire, IndoChina 1951...

100_9631.JPG

So that fits the requirement for the FRENCH ribbon. I hope to see this ribbon posted onto my ribbon rack along with the AUSTRALIA, NAVY and SOUTH ribbons that I have completed and am still waiting to show up. :)

I still have the New Zealand Signaller to complete. Heck, I still have to start him so I do not know if I will complete him in time or not. Then again, it is only the 18th so I think I can knock him out while I work on an M113 for another project.

Cheers,
James

Here is my final project for the Charlie Don't Surf 3 Build Campaign - SIGNALLER, Victory Company, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment in Vietnam 1967.

So that checks the block for the New Zealand Ribbon. Besides the New Zealand Ribbon, the NAVY, AUSTRALIA, FRANCE, and SOUTH Ribbons still need to be added to my Ribbon Rack.

I really enjoyed this build campaign and look forward to Charlie Don't Surf 4 some time in the future, like in the next couple of years or so.

Cheers,
James

Thanks. I appreciate it.

I guess I need to build some stuff for other campaigns as all my ribbons are Vietnam ribbons. :)

Cheers,
James
