This Modeler makes laser-cut ribs and spars for his control surfaces. You can't tell from my picture, but there's a lot more detail in de-tail of his Liberator!

Academy's Boeing early B-17F. Usually the landing gear looks a little too long. Not on this Belle!

Matchbox's Classic 1/72 Consolidated Privateer. Impressive!

Heaven's Eagle made it after all! With Brummbar and Rhino after getting our Runza fix for the Day.
I bemoaned the fact that I'd been skunked at the 2017 National show's raffle. I was shambling about and happened upon the Saturday drawing. A low, John Lannings voice spake unto the Rhino. And the Rhino had ears to hear, and heard 9312644! And Rhino rejoiced and cried out "Bingo!" and then the voice spoke out again, and the Rhino rejoiced yet again! 9312648! "BINGO!" Then came raffle prizes of such treasure! John Lanning gave Spitfire Day unto the surprised and humbled Rhino! And it was good.

The well-pleased Rhino then bestowed his remaining 22 raffle tickets unto the Children of the Show. and there was much rejoicing! Hurray!

A Laurel & Hearty handshake to IMPS Fort Crook. They put on another excellent National Show. I wished for a Convention Pin. None could be had. I was only there part of 2 days, but a Years worth of cameraderie and model fun was had. Bountiful vendors, old friends, and new ones too. So many awesome Models!! I didn't even spend all my $$.

For myself, I talked to as many old stalwarts as I could. Harrumph!!!Fort Crook!! and all those who made this Convention a resounding success!! :drinks :ro: :dude :notworthy (y) :yipee

Poor little Dane. We nearly laughed ourselves sick from Adair to Don's house in Des Moines. I hope he had a good time. It takes lots of energy to laugh that hard, for that long! "What are you going to fish for with THAT!" Ha!!

Thanks for enduring my baloney one more time! :drinks :eek:ldguy :pilot

Excellent report! Thank you for not only taking time to photograph all those models, but also posting them here to share. It takes a lot of effort to do so and I really appreciate it! :notworthy

Great that you guys got to meet up, it's always fun to see MA members!

:drinks

Great report guys but really, not one bowling shirt? We gotta get back on that pronto.

Jimmy Stewart in a B47? I remember seeing a video of the ol' man getting out of the cockpit of a B58 hustler. That's a Man's Man right there I tell ya.

Seems I saw the refueling rig once before, surely that thing didn't travel all the way here last year did it?

Some fascinating work on those tables, but I really love the humorous ones the most! Man I haven't laughed so much in a decade over humorous models like that! Wow!

If you saw a lone black guy wandering around, that is my friend Steve Witherspoon. He just got his certification for Nationals judging this year at that convention. He's a fantastic guy and a most wonderful friend.

Man, I hope some of you guys can make it to Phoenix; I really want to meet you guys there.

Strategic Air Command. Jimmy Stewart Plays Dutch Holland. Wrecks a B-36 on Greenland. Flies a B-47 across the Pacific to Kadena AFB, Okinawa. Lots of cool '50's USAF footage, if you're a fan of such things. What Bowling Shirt?

I hadn't given much thought to going to Phoenix. I am considering Chattanooga, TN. 2019.

The Snow trooper walking the Baby AT-AT tickled me no end! :rotf I didn't see Mr. Witherspoon, Duke.

Look starting about 1:20, not sure if he actually flew it but from the grin on his face (and accounting for him being a great actor) I'd say he flew her.

Ok time for more Nationals pictures. Had fun seen lots of friends. Bought some models, but more on that later.

More later....... :)

Great pictures everyone.
I spent way to much money at the show.
The gentlemen from Special Hobby were more than accommodating.
I was able to pick up 3 different Cobras, C-33 / C-39, P-59, TT-1 "Pinto", SB2C-5 for a very good price.
Squadron had the new Trumpeter Mig 31 on sale for $43 and change and Fundekel had the new F-106 sheets available.
Great show, the wife is already planning a trip to Phoenix next year.
The regional (region 5)contest is in Branson Mo. next year, trip already booked.

Cool Pictures, Terry! :ro: (y) :good:
As an aside, I did not intend to hi-jack your Thread. I just get carried away sometimes!! :pilot :eek:ldguy :salute
I believe a Model Show is my own Play-ground, with lots of new Play-things. I do try to "Play" with EVERYONE!!

Very nice entries ( so many birds ) .

Thank you for taking and uploading so many pictures (y)

Cheers, Christian B)
