Scotty had chased that dream of building a second Bugatti 100p for quite a few years. When I first met him it was at a tiny private G.A. strip in Tulsa called Harvey Young. Dad used to take me there to watch planes fly off. Scotty was always welcoming an d a war smile and quick with made him a pleasure to be around. He told me the history of the 100p and all of the technical challenges that he and his team of several internati0onal experts in aeronautics and mechanics that volunteered there time.
One of the things that he showed the most pride in was the gearbox that allowed counter rotation of the props. manufactured in England from partial plans of the original and arriving in due time for the first engine run ups.
He so impressed the Bugatti family with his historical efforts that the family allocated and approved a production number of 2 and not as a replica.
Scotty, you will be missed, my friend,
