M48A1 PATTON

Wow, I finally find this and get all caught up and it's finished! Way to go! This is one of the most spectacular models I've seen yet.

Not quite finished yet. Working on the external fuel system and rack.

Beautifully presented, brave (very) to scratch build & add the external fuel system... :good:

You're my star Terry!!!!!!!! (y)

Looking even better. I can't figure out why Dragon left that out of the kit pretty much all of them had it.

Man, that looks great!

Nothing like riding into battle with four 55 gallon drums full of fuel hanging off your backside. :blink

Well they only used it on long road marches. Dad said they didn't, but the fuel truck was never far away during reserve operations.

Thanks!

Yeah not the best option, but they would dump them before combat, or that was the plan.

Nice upgrade T :good: . I always thought the Russian tanks were strange to always show the extra fuel on the back .

Come to think of it, I don't recall seeing any battle pictures with external tanks . :idonno

U.S. A1's didn't see combat, but the external tanks were used extensively by units in Germany.
