"Frag Out!" figure - COMPLETED

Well, I finally got the figure vignette completed and photographed it with a piece of cardboard as a backdrop so you don't see the messy workbench in the pictures.

It was pretty fun to build and with the groundwork depicting an area that had been burnt by fire was a nice change of pace from jungle foliage that I usually include in most of my dioramas and vignettes.

Army ribbon...check!

This is the project that I had completed back in February prior to this build campaign which got me into a trend of single figure vignettes. It is titled, "Battle Weary Grunt" depicting a Soldier from 2d Battalion, 47th Infantry (Mechanized), 9th Infantry Division after fighting in the Bien Hoa / Long Binh area during the 1968 Tet Offensive.

Thanks.

It was brought to my attention by some of my modeling buddies that the exposed canteens look a bit too bright. I toned them down a bit by applying glazes of olive drab to them and now they look more like the color of the actual plastic canteens.

Now I think it looks better.
