Bodes "Well" for the Maquis

Figures look very good!

I had used Masterbox figures on a dio and I think they are very good.... having realistic folds and so fourth..

Regards
Noel

Those figs look great! The pleated skirt, the captured officer's pose- all so nice. Can't wait to see your Kubel!

Thanks Noel and chuk--

Hopefully I can manipulate these figures that came with the Kubel realistically as they are also pretty well molded...

OK...bit of a large update-- mainly because I take pics so I can see where I need to fix things. First issue-- my well...from the side, it looks like a perfect working well...

And from the front- we can see the clear stretchy beading wire I used kind of went askew a bit...

My Kubel is not done yet- but is getting there...

Holy smokes, November 7th? Where have I been, that's over a month ago, in fact where have you been? :D

Looking good so far, love the running water. Keep it up.

:ro:

This is coming along nicely. As for the water, well a bit of a breeze will do that so n problem. What did you use for your rust stain under the spouts?
James

Thanks guys for the comments!

Ken... I'm right here, where are you? ;). Haven't had much time to work on this lately as the science department budget at school is next week and I'm still trying to prioritize what to order. Hard to buy the same amount of needed supplies with less money...

James... I like your explanation... Gonna use that! I used a mix of Doc O'Briens weathering powders...the material the well is made up is just perfect for them to adhere to...my compliments to Michael! The lichen and algae at the top is a mix of cheap craft paint and the powders.

Thanks MP!

I've been meaning to say something about this somewhere, just haven't had the opportunity. I have some of those Doc O'Briens pigments. Thought I was working with them OK, just could not get the hang of pigments in general.

Recent road trip up to Mike and Chris's stomping grounds we hit their LHS and they had some Migs stuff in stock. I picked up a bottle of his faded OD. wanted to test it with what I had been doing.

Bubba...I thought I had been using pigments, Migs is so far superior to Docs it's not funny. Bottom line is, you get what you pay for. I probably got the same set of pigments from Doc that you did, 8-10 colors for the price of one Migs bottle. It's not worth it. I'm looking to buy better pigments ASAP!

That's cool MP...I don't have much for LHS's out here. For what I do, the Doc pigments work pretty well for me...

OK-- some progress pics first...and then I am fishing for ideas...

OK-- so two questions...

1. The round grill-- I have looked at others' work and have seen trees in there...I was thinking about maybe a stump...but was anything else in this type of thing or was it basically just for trees?

2. I am trying to figure on what would have made this Kubel driver stop here so he was captured by the Maquis...so then I was thinking of maybe having the tree from the tree ring downed across the street...or I could just go with a straight roadblock...any ideas for you folks who have much more experience with these things than I do?

How about a couple of canteens on the fountain well. They stopped to refill before and got surprised.
James

Ooo...that might work James...I have another figure that came with the Kubel...maybe I can have him with some canteens near the fountain...

Well-- I am on the home stretch here...need to touch up some of the figures a bit (I'll never be completely happy with my figure painting, but then again- that's why I do this-- to get better!).

Am pretty happy with the final placement of everything...and am loving the Armand Bayardi tree I picked up at AMPS...please give me any feedback on the composition or figures you can...
