    I had a few Volkswagens back in the day 68, 72 Super, 74 beetles, and a 71 bus. I couldn't remember what those foil lines did. John Muir said that his split window bus ran hotter with the windows down. Just that little thing messed up the airflow in the engine compartment.

    Thanks Mike. It's pretty tight in there once the hull is done. Hard to see to much, but the engine bay hatches will be open.

    I'm going to add a bit more where the crank exits the rear of the hull...which is actually the front of the engine.

    Getting the hull floor ready to accept the the engine, radiator and transmission. The transmission as well as the bulk of the radiator will not be seen once the entire hull is assembled. The Renault engines didn't have any seals so it was an oily mess in that area.

    You're doing the PE process right. So, I'm not sure why it's not working. I use the Hobby Lobby brand of thick CA. I'll get a new bottle for photoetch. I want it fresh. Touching just a needle tip to the railing stanchions. Usually the glue will grab in a few seconds.

    Ours is a John Deere X590. With 3+ acres to mow I've racked up the hours on it, around 350 and it's only 5 yrs old.
