Thanks for the look inside James. It's a great kit, builds up nicely. Has Dragon started adding that slot on the boggy?

:soldier

No they havent. As I mentioned nothing has changed in the basic kit. Just added new parts for the IDF version. I have the Anti Tank one also with the SS-11s and its the same.

Wow thanks for the look inside James now you have me quite jelous of this kit Sure hope to see you build it soon.

Wish someone could do something with the tracks. I know it's a live suspension but there's clearly photos of those tracks slack and under stress.

I think if they did them in the DS plastic that would be good. I just got a new book Basic Half-Track Vehicles M2, M3 Technical Manual and there is one picture where the tracks are really loose that would be a cool diorama if there was a soft track replacement. BTW the book would be my idea of a must for super detailers. Link is to Amazon.ca.

I guess my thing is, Dragon makes the bogie where it can be articulated many different ways but the tracks are rigid. Not sure if I want tracks like Tamiya's old ones but something in the middle.

Don't ask for much do I? :soldier

I was thinking the Dragon DS tracks, that tan coloured soft plastic. It would look good.

I don't think I've ever worked with them James. Yeah they would do the job. :v

So tell Dragon to get on it! :rotf

Okay everyone I have been schooled on the kit by someone who knows more about the subject matter. I think I'll just stick with books or maybe just not bother. Check this link to get a better idea of what the kit is about. If I bother there is a lot of work ahead of me to make this properly.

It'll still build up to look like an Israeli halftrack James. What kit doesn't have a shopping list of corrections?

From what I have seen of early Israeli stuff every vehicle was uniquely done Its only later (after 67) that they were able to standardise a lot of theyr stuff but before that they had to take what they found. I am quite sure you will propably find pictures with all the difrent things added etc.

James,
How can you be schooled by a self-proclaimed person who "I feel very qualified to comment on the basic half track parts (I've built six DML half tracks) and am in the process of researching the IDF upgrades" yet does not provide references or pictures to back up his claim. Unless he also personally owns said 1:1 scale halftracks I question his credibility, I agree with the others WRT list of corrections and different makes/ models/ pictures.
Based on this guys comments, since I have built the Panda SA-15, I am an expert on the vehicle (regardless of my job ;) ) . I say carry on and keep the awesome reviews coming.
