Orangecon 2017 Photos

Well, I'm a little late, but last weekend I attended and judged at my IPMS Orange County's annual Orangecon. We had 531 entries on the table; but far more models due to nine of those entries being collections. It's a good possibility that we had some 600 actual models on the tables.

Here are some of the pics from that day. Most of these are models that caught my interest the most.

Overall shots:

About half of the collections:

Most of the Sci-fi entries:

All our Trophies; the wooden ones were all made by the club:

Now for some of the models that most caught my eye:

The following are 1/72 scale. These are why I don't place!

By the way, the six models behind this Abrams are my small scale armor entries. I had eight other entries in eight other categories.

I think that is all I can fit for now. My apologies on the size of some of these. Enjoy!

Looks like a great show! I like that, "evolution of rust" display and I see a nice Do X on the table!!

Thanks for the great comments guys! It was a fantastic show.

That evolution of rust was a great collection; the pics don't do it justice. So much detail and subtle effects that really made all of them pop. My friend Sean built the Do-X; it was a very tough kit to build he said.

Bob, I like the bombshell on the bomb too. What a great model!

I'm delighted to see it's not JUST me with the roving reporter gene! HA!! :rotf
Well Done Mark! Thanks for taking the time & effort to post this! You never can tell what will inspire Model Mojo!! :notworthy :good: :ro:

Thanks Rhino! I confess, I always take tons of pics, but I don't always get them all posted. I still have pics from Orangecon 2015 and 2016 that have never been posted! I have been trying to do better though whenever I go to shows like this.
