After talking about going to see the Wheels Through Time Museum for years with my friend and former co-worker Carl, we finally did it! Maggie Valley, NC is about an hour and a half from my home,so we saddled up early and hit the road. If you've ever watched the TV series What's In The Barn or American Restoration, you are familiar with Dale Walksler and his fabulous collection of vintage American motorcycles. Let me tell you, there was more to see than one person can absorb in a day. The museum is quite large and the displays are not only well done, but they will start up these magnificent machines if you ask. 
:yipee The only drawback to the museum is if you want to photograph anything, no flash is allowed and the lighting level is kind of low. I had to ditch a lot of the shots I took due to camera shake or movement of people, but that gives me an excuse to go back! :yipee I actually got to speak with Dale for a few minutes, he's a very genuine person and very gracious. On with the tour!

Some of these next few photos are not as sharp as I'd have liked, but didn't dump them due to the subject.
This bike was found in the Orville and Wilbur Wright collection that was found in a basement.
The vertical slots you see at the bottom of the cylinder heads are there to allow more air into the combustion chamber, an early version of supercharging.
In the Military Might display, many models of motorbikes are shown along with military equipment.
Everybody needs one of these!
Another of those must haves..
Dolly Parton, I mean, Dagmar bumpers..
Where Are You From? was popular.
This would be a rough riding SOB.

This Harley is number 1 of 1. The associate at the display said that Jay Leno offered to purchase it during a recent visit for $1.5 million and was turned down.
One of one production, wow!
This Indian was cool too!

Talk about innovation.
