Special Hobby 1/48 He 115B Review

Good to see someone finally doing a proper review of this kit! Thanks Gary!

I bought two, this one and the Scandinavian version. I think they will build up nice!

I did notice one difference between the two kits, in the Scandinavian version, they included a new PE fret with 2 additional pieces. The rear "chines" for the bottom of the floats.

You can see them in the box art of the German version but they are not indicated in step 11, while they are in the Scandinavian version. I'm sure it wouldn't be an issue to scratch build them, just curious why they weren't included in the first issue of the kit. Maybe an afterthought?

This looks like a job for the Phantom...PhantomII that is...:popcorn.

Thanks again Gary, great job. (y)

Good review and photo's Gary, I noticed your comments on this aircraft in action against convoy PK-17 -

Jeremy Clarkson did an outstanding doco on this convoy, well worth watching.

With the hollow wings - had the same on the Special Hobby Miles Magister I built, best way I could work out to attach the wings to fuse was to fill the hollow wing face with some scrap plastic which gave a much better securing area.
