FleaCon 10 Anyone going?

Rhino

Hey M/A'ers! Wanna come play in Cedar Rapids this weekend? Here's the link;
http://ipms-usa-lippisch-chapter.org/wordpress/

Well, Leopard2, Brummbar, Viper, and Rhino made it to FleaCon 10, in Cedar Rapids IA last Saturday. The Show was held at Signature Aviation. YUP! The AIRPORT! I was stoked to see the 1/1 scale airplanes, and the atmosphere of private Bug Smashers, and commercial Blow Torches coming & going. My parents were Pilots, way back when, when I was young (NO! I have NOT Always been OLD!!) :pilot
The show starts at the rather innocuous looking Signature Aviation Hangar,

There IS a Show here!!
Thunderstorm came!! More later!

Wish I could have come but glad I missed those storms. Looking forward to the pictures Chris.

That must be an early in the day photo, I don't see any pull behind trailers to all the loot. :laugh: B)

I didn't want all the lightning to Zapp-o my meager computing capability, here at my rustic, Country, home.
We had quite a blow this last couple of days. Minimal damage, and no casualties!

I got squared away, and bought raffle tickets, then put on my RF, and made my photo passes. Rachel said "You can't win too many more raffle prizes, they won't all fit in the Mini!" It was a near thing!! Her Mini-Cooper, and my Kia Optima don't have trailer hitches. DOOH!

:yipee Found the Contest!

Seems innocent enough, But still, I sense a Presence.......

Judges Bench.
IMG_1664.JPG

3 Stations, 3 Judges per Station, to Judge 3 Models at a time. U pays yer $$, turns the 3 models your are submitting to be Judged, then sit down and fill out your Purple sheets, to display with your Model, with your name right on it so people can tell, on purpose, who built what! Seemed weird, but it worked REALLY WELL! Your Models move, after Judgement, to the appropriate display area. FleaCon 10 had 53 Entrants, with 135 Models on display. It went slicker than water off a duck,s back! Kudos to the IPMS Alexander Lippisch Club (aka Fartin'Fleas!!)
So, You must be wondering "Where, Oh Wordy Rhino, are the Model Pictures?"
