I am going to attempt to faithfully replicate Lulubelle from the 1943 movie Sahara.

Using the Academy kit, actually have two of them because it generally takes me two kits to knock out one. Don't know why, just the way it works. I got some other stuff but can't remember what. Will have my startup photo when I can.

So to Sgt Joe Gunn I dedicate this build. :salute :soldier

Here's my startup.

Two kits so I should be able to get at least one out of this. Saul I see you sent some other stuff with this, guess the resin turret has some corrections but it doesn't have interior, unless i'm suppose to scrape out all the stuff in there and add my own.

Also the tan sprues, are those the corrected boggies, no pun intended.
 
I know right, been talking about the Movie campaign in general for years. Looks like we're off to a good start, now everyone needs to complete their builds, including me! :soldier

Thanks Peter, looks like the right air cleaners and fantail exhaust for Lulu Belle. Looks like someone been taking pot shots at the front though.
 
OK, on to Lulubelle

First thing to note is, I don't think the Academy kit has the square air cleaners and the flared exhausts. Anyone know where I can source that?
I'm ordering barrels and tracks, the kit I got from Saul years ago has a nice assortment of resin in it. One big slab for the turret but i'm not sure if i'm suppose to clean out all the inside of it because it's solid.

I think instead of creating a biohazard by sanding out all that resin, I'm going to reshape the kit turret using this cast one as a guide. I got two kits so if I screw up the first one, I got a back up. :good:
