Trumpeter SBD 3 on the way and just ordered a sheet of Yellow Hammer decals. It has 3 Midway markings.
Might go for a VS 5 bird or the Enterprise Air Group Commander's bird. Might get some brass landing gear and trying to decide if the Yahu Model instrument panels would be proper for this kit. Unfortunately they list it as early type.

Been a good day today. Went looking through my stash and found brass legs, Wldron cockpit, Seatbelts, and weighted wheels for the SBD-3. Found a bunch of Eduard PE for a SBD-5 but not sure if it will work for the 3. Research.

You've got some good resources incoming James. I'm at summer camp with my son so don't have my books... major difference between the -3 and -5 is the gunsight...might be some minor gauge changes...rear-side definitely has a few changes...
 
Some good stuff and some nots so. Skimmed though about 6 books last night. Love the tablet for ease of use and less clutter and how quick I can get a book, but still not as good as a real book that I can mark with stickies etc. Still :D
Not sure how much change for the rear as the big change was the single 30 to a dual mount. I have lots of pics though.
Now just waiting on the kit.
