One can't deny the beauty of an iconic car such as the Jaguar. Hasegawa has reissued their Jaguar XJ-S kit, which is represented here as car number 1 from the Tom Walkinshaw racing team. The scheme pictured on the box is the only one represented in the box but it looks to be excellent...molded in styrene, there are three white parts trees, in addition to the main body shell. There is also two trees of grayish parts (softer and more flexible), two trees of chrome parts, one of clear parts, a fret of PE, and a set of vinyl tires, pictured here:

The instruction booklet seems to have been left alone, as it definitely looks like it came out of an older kit-

Clears parts, PE, and materials for belts and the like:

Decals for the one scheme:

Main body-- no flash that I can see- just my phone camera...

Chrome trees:

The gray sprues contain parts for what looks like an exceptional V-12 engine, plus the undercarriage, exhaust, springs, and lower chassis...

Lastly the white sprues...first is the smallest with the hood and other part:

The interior floor and panel, brake drums, and roll cage-

And the seat, suspension, and various other bits such as the steering wheel and such...

Looks like Hasagawa went all out in this reissue and I look forward to turning it into a gem of a race car.

Oh hell yes Jeeves! :woohoo:

And do I spy a Hasegawa auto kit w/ an engine?! WTF! :eek:hmy:

I secretly may have to track one down...I have a soft spot for the old Gr.A/ATCC/ETCC touring cars.

Hey guys-- sorry for the delay, but I haven't had room for this one until now. Review #3...

Chris-- yes this one has an engine-- which is what I started on today ;)

Still lots to add to this one-- but trying to decide if I should wait and paint the whole thing at once or do so in steps....

Neat! I used to work for a gent that had a road-version (not a race car) of this, and it was one sweet ride!

Been working on 5 builds at once which I can admit is a little ridiculous...but it does mean I don't get bored with the same old thing...some progress...

I have a soft spot for jaguars (both the cars and the cats).

Coming along nicely Mike!

Thanks guys! Main body is turning out to be a pain to paint... no pics yet but needless to say I have to revisit it a little...

That's a good question but I don't think so...if I knew more about cars I could tell you...but unfortunately I am not a gear head :(

I'm thinking they might be.

found this vid on Youtube
