Aarlborg AB, Denmark 1944 - with a He-177

Hello dear friends,

So I put together a small rendition of a "dispersal area" of the Aarlborg airfield in Denmark in 1944. The KG 100 bomber Group with its Heinkel He-177 A-5 was stationed there for attacks against shipping in the North sea, the royal navy and against Britain (Operation Steinbock).

I./KG 100 was sent to the southern sector of the Eastern Front in 1942 and also operated the southern Eastern Front in 1943. After a switch between I./KG 100 and I./KG 4, the “new” I./KG 100 served on the Channel Front again, bombing England in 1943 and 1944 before it was removed from the Geschwader end of May 1944 and became III./KG 1.

I have included two Henschel Hs-293 glide bombs in the plane and a full bomb load, while a SC 1000 "Hermann" is carried in the tow cart. On the ground three "Fritz-X" glide bombs and a non-painted Hs-293.

The model is a Revell 1/72 Heinkel He-177 A-5 with resin Details from CMK and PE from Eduard. Figures and Bombs are Resin CMK. Painted with acrylic from Mr. Color and Hataka, Weathering with Ammo of Mig.

I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for looking.

Cheers

Alex
