Dafadar , Governor's general bodyguard, India 1912

Ciao a tutti,

I've started to paint this really old figure from Chota Sahib.

I love vintage figures, you can find interstings dubjects.

I've finished the face, still finishing the back of the turbant and have to touch-up the red tunic.

I've used the iridescent white oil colour from Winsor & Newton, to give a silk effect to the turbant, quite interesting effect, not really visible in the pictures.

Comments are really welcomed.

Ciao

Giovanni

That looks really cool. I was given one of those (or something like it) when I was a kid. Never got it done because I couldn't find info and there was no paint guide. Wonder where it went.

Anyways looking good Giovanni.

James

PS my figure should be here in a week or so (I hope)

Hi James,

These guys are a joy to paint, even though are really tiny!!!

If you manage to find yours, give it a try!

Can't wait for your figures to arrive!

And here we are, I've finally finished this really old and fascinating figure.

Has been a pleasure to paint it but, at the same time, a pain as well, with the bad casting and the not so up to modern standard sculpture.

As general note, I've painted the figure without modyfing anything ofthe original figure.

You may notice the ambientation, made with plasticard ad magic sculpt trying to replicate in miniature the ivory ad red indian granit and a existing Jaipur carpet.

As alway any comments is appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

Giovanni

P.S.:I've put at the end of the tread 2 pics, the original box art and my version at, more or less the same angle, look how different a painting style can make a figure.
