BV 138 Flying Clog

phantom II

Master at Arms
At long last it looks as though this beast will get built.

Here's the obligatory start up stamp . :)

As far as I know, this is the oldest box in the stash having been there since 1976/1980 .
The box has been in a pitiful state for years. Lets hope everything is still in there.

Not often you see a Super model box anymore.

This is from the days when Squadron Shop was actually a cool bunch . I miss those days. :(

Here are the guts . As you can see, only a few sprues cut. I wish there were some after market good for it but it looks like it's gonna be old school. :fencing

I know I have at least one member that's interested in the airplane . I hope some of you others might find some interest in it.

Cheers, Christian B)

Very cool. Looking forward to watching this. Is it a limited run kit? Looks like a fair amount of work will be required.

Interesting aircraft, this will be great to follow. :coolio

All the best!
Dusan.

OOOOOHHHHH Cool Christian!, I will be watching this as I have one buried somewhere as well. Plus it is just a cool looking plane! Good luck with the build :good:

It is not James. It's similar to the Gotha that I just built. Probably sparse in detail though . :S

I built this one many many many many many years ago and still have it in my collection. I probably built it in 1986/87 and it is still one of my favorite builds just because it is so cool looking. Looking forward to your rendering of it. (y)

If you wish, I could post some images from the manual. Plus, there is a wreck pulled up from the sea on display somewhere.

Regards,

Hey Saul, just saw your post. Most of the pix I have found are either from models or war time pictures that don't reveal very at all.

I'll take anything you're willing to share . :) Thanks in advance . :D

More than one interested.

Twin boom float plane. Never seen that before :popcorn

Really ? I realize there are more pictures of the Dornier but this is said to be their best seaplane and more than as always, B & V were very creative with the design.

They didn't seem to be scared to draw off the sheet of paper :D

Propeller from the Bv-138 or Ju-88 (hint, in case you want to replace them):

If all goes well, you may want to replace the transparencies with a set from Falcon (I don't know if Squadron sells it separately for this kit):
