What a great way to honor Dave than with some body as memorable as Chesty.
I thought long and hard about what I would build for this and it was a toss up between the 32 F6F-3N or this. Since it is more famous I went this way to quell any doubts about if it were marine enough or not.
Here she is.

I know it says Hobby Craft but it is the correct kit.

I started with the pit.

While I was thinking as hard as I could I came up with an idea that would make a half way decent harness. So I traced one from an unused pe set onto some Tamiya tape and used the pe buckles.

I also got most of the engine done in the four days I spent on it a little at a time.

Every time I build one of these engines I learn something new.
I hope to do this justice to honor Dave and all the marines that gave all.

I always wanted to see the inside of this kit. Looks like a good candidate for a Vector Engine and some open panels :woohoo: :bang head
