ME410 All the Way

Hi, T&T! Moon Puppy invited me to join your happy band, and let me say that this is a fine place! I've posted this build on other forums, so bear with me if I plunk a bunch of stuff down here to get up to speed- thansk! We now join this build already in progress!

Here I go again! After a bit of rest I've begun my latest project- hope you're ready for another long adventure. We'll be adding some Aires resin- haven't done that yet- and we'll be meeting some interesting new characters, too. I'd like to detail an engine- if anyone would be willing to sell me part of their Aires engine set, that is. The cowlings are just too pretty to leave both off! Contact me via email if you can help- and thanks!

I think I've finally gotten this build over the initial hump. Fitting the main resin components is crucial, and it didn't help that one was more than a bit warped. Fritzi, show 'em how we did it!

Bit of a short update today- we washed my wife's station wagon, which is akin to waxing the Saratoga. I drive a Toyota MR2, which is, in comparison, an F4F Wildcat. I swear I could land it in the back of that Volvo! Meanwhile, Pfennig's off on some mysterious errand, so we have a special guest to help Fritzi with today's installment:

I've had a busy but enjoyable weekend- even got in a little modeling time! Take a look:

Many thanks, my friends! Well, it's been a busy- but relaxing weekend. Among other things, a flock of birds crapped all over my car, so I had to wash it! I feel like that Squadron Guy sometimes...

I've posted this image earlier, but a sense of duty- and profound gratitude- leads me to begin today's update with a tribute to America's heroes- before our dastardly little villains take over.

That bellcrank goes.... well it goes somewhere. It was in the reference phots- maybe the elevator trim tab? Anyway, you're all so kind- many thanks!

It was my sweet little wife's birthday yesterday- we had a nice dinner out and walked the dogs at the beach. I got to model some, too- she's very supportive of my weird hobbies. She even brought me a nice, cold one while I was writing up this post- cheers!

Many thanks, guys! I always get such a warm welcome here at T&T... :face:

A tank, Alex? Hmmm- I do have an AFV Club Styker- but no am for it yet....

I love the pic, Laura- well done! Christmas is early! :santa:

Not too much time at the bench this week- lots going on! I'll let Fritzi get you caught up on our progress- I'm off and running!

Thanks, TnT! Glad you dirt crawlers still tolerate this wingy thing! ;)

We've had a tough week- or dear bulldog Dynamite had to have some pretty serious surgery to have her infection-ravaged ear canals removed. Scary enough, but a bad drug reaction, breathing complications, runaway temperatures and additional surgery took us to the emergency vet late Friday. We got her there just in the nick of time, and she stayed there till this morning when we brought her home. She's doing okay but will need a lot of nursing and attention to get her back to her loving self. Here's a pic of her with shaved fur, stitches and drains- poor puppy! Send your good vibes our way- she can sure use 'em!

I burned up a lot of nervous energy while waiting by attacking the plastic- I'll let the girls take it from here.

Thanks, my friends- especially for your concern about my doggie! The good news is that she's doing fine and getting better every day- in fact, her stitches come out Wednesday morning. She's her happy little self and will only feel better without a constant double earache. Cheers- you folks are the best! Thanks for all the great reference as well- it's just the kind of stuff my fevered brain was craving!

Fritz- what have you got for us today?

Many thanks, gracious hostesses!

Sturm und drang! That's what life's all about, isn't it? I was at the huge and amazing San Diego Comic Con last week where I have a table in venerable Artist Alley. I meet, greet and harrange the hoi polloi for four days of frenzied festivity, seeing old friends and strange sights. This year I managed to bring home a couple of colonies of 'em, in fact- the worst of which have evolved in a nifty case of bronchitis. I've been home sick since Wednesday, but have finally gotten some antibiotics and should see some improvement soon. I've been able to sit and fiddle with the Me 410, though- so much that I'm breaking this installment into two party- more to come tomorrow. In my fevered dreams I finally saw the identity of the mysterious and sinister officer who has haunted this build- I have met the enemy- and he is me!

Wurzacher's pics were a real help with detailing the top of the engine- I would have not known to add that bit of foo-foo in front of the magneto. Cheers!

I know some people are having trouble seeing the pics in their entirety- I don't understand, as they show up fully complete on my screen. Sorry to be a pain- is there a fix for this, web gurus?

Well, here's another flood of pics to conound and amaze you, brave readers! You thrilled at the maze of wires! You chilled at the hosts of tiny parts! Now for some mounting tension as I build all-new engine mounts, all in part 2 of...- Terror of the UberMotor!

Best modelling blog on the net period , this flash new website would be nothing without your awesome artwork ;) , we are all in your debt ! :)

Jenny

I'll dedicate this post to Jenny's sweet little dog, who's chasing butterflies in Doggie Heaven now.

Don't worry about mission creep here, Bob- if we can solve a basic problem here, I'm all for it! 8)

It's been a looong month, and sometimes you just need to catch up a bit. Weeks and weeks ago I drew and inked this sketch of Fritzi and Hannah whilst sitting on the beach. Enjoy this brief update- and cheers, my friends!
