Dragon M4A1 75mm USMC

Sherman 18

Master at Arms
I started this kit as a step by step for the local club's FB page. This is an old kit by todays standards, but I think it still looks like a M4A1. I believe there is an issue with the upper hull around the drivers and co-drivers hatches, not enough for me to worry about. I again had started this 4/5 years ago, I did not pay attention to my research as I discovered when I restarted it. :idonno It's just a model it can be fixed :eek:hyeah

and what I found when took the parts back out of the box, really the only things I did wrong was add the sand shield mounting strip and the add on cheek armor

I started redoing the casting texture on the kit supplied turret and adding in some mold lines and such.

Leaving the cheek armor on the turret while it should not be there, started to bug me. I ended up trading it with one from the parts box.

On the upper hull I removed the casting symbol and plugged holes for the tools with stretched sprue

Looking great. :good: Do I see some Shapeways stuff on there? Also, why would having the sand shield bolt hole strips be wrong? And what did you use for the little snap fastners around the hull MG?

Yes Shapeways products. No to bad either, I think next time I will prime them might be easier to see while handling the clean up.

As for the sand shields, the early Pacific Car & Foundry Shermans did not have them. I thought they did until I looked close at the photos.

Good to see this one on the roll again, nice work!

That last colour photo, I'm sure I saw the exact same shot on a doco here in Australia a few nights ago, New Britain invasion, the armour got stuck in the soft boggy terrain and the marines had to go it alone without them.

Nice find.
